Happy Wednesday all! These past few weeks have been jam packed with so many amazing things. The highlight being my best friend getting married to the guy she’s been dating since she was in 8th grade! Sorry for the delay in posts as I catch up on life.

WEEK 13 OVERVIEW:

Monday started my week off strong with an easy 5 mile run. My legs were feeling super fresh this day and I was relieved to have a little break in mileage the week before.

Tuesday I had a 10 mile tempo run planned. I was nervous cause it was my first real big tempo run. The run actually went amazing and I felt great literally the entire time. It was the first time in all my training where my confidence felt super high.

Wednesday was a rest day and I took full advantage of it.

Thursday I had an easy 6 miles planned and to my surprise my legs wanted to move super fast, so I let them.

Friday I did a 4 mile recovery run. I made sure I spent the rest of the day hydrating and getting ready for my first 20 miler on Saturday.

Saturday was long run day! I headed out with minimal expectations. My legs felt good and I was crushing through my run like it was nothing. I felt super hydrated and well nourished the whole time. It ended up being one of the best 20 milers I have ever ran!

Sunday I took my much needed recovery rest day!

WEEK 14 OVERVIEW:

Monday I woke up with a lot of determination for my week. As far as speed workouts go it was an important one. I did my recovery 6 miles and enjoyed the slower pace as I knew the week ahead would be tough.

Tuesday I woke up feeling super groggy. I prepped myself for my 10x800s and headed out to the track. During my warm up I realized this was going to be a tough day. By the 3rd 800 I was already struggling. I made a tough decision to end my workout after 5 800s and felt really defeated for the first time all training. It was a tough day mentally but I know it doesn’t define my training.

Wednesday I went out for a recovery 7 miler and focused all my energy on removing anything negative from my mind. I made a commitment to let go of the day before.

Thursday was rest day!

Friday was long run day because of the wedding! It was my first GMP long run and I was excited for it. I went out with an open mind and open heart knowing that if I put to much pressure on myself I wouldn’t enjoy it. I tried something knew and ran 7 miles one way and then the last 11 another way, stopping at my house in between. I ended up NAILING my run and felt so much rejuvenation from it. #hellyeah

Saturday was wedding day! It was the best day I’ve had in a long time. My friend looked so amazing and my heart was filled with so much love!

Sunday I woke up feeling a little weak from the night before. I waited all day until about 5p when I headed out for my recovery run. It was painful. But I did it.
